The GT540 has many customization opportunities and manages to deliver a reasonably good user experience for a pretty reasonable price.

To kick things off, the device measures up at 109 x 54.5 x 12.9mm so it is not the smallest handset but it is very slim for good pocket-ability and the naturally curved frame makes it very palm-able. It has a grained metallic finish to the bodywork and the 3 inch HVGA screen is voluminous and energetic. Overall the GT540 looks fantastic and feels good to handle.

The eye-catching phone comes with internet access via the WAP 2.0 Browser, the browser supports XHTML and HTML browsing; it also gives you Google Search. There is Wi Fi in-built for swift web connection through nearby wireless hotspots or WLAN connections, there is also 3G HSDPA technology which gives its user high speed connectivity when using to the web. The Android market is similar to the Apple App Store; it has an assortment of practical and unpractical applications ready for download onto your device.

The LG GT540 comes with a built-in digital camera; it has a 3 mega pixel lens face detection feature and is capable of video recording too. There are enhanced multimedia perks to check out, along with the phones incorporated FM radio, comes the Radio Data system, and it gives you information on the current radio station you are tuned into. The device has Bluetooth technology for wireless file transfer to and from other handsets; it has a microSD slot which can take up to 32GB which allows for masses of possible storage space for all of your music, images and video files. To finish the GT540′s features, the My Style! My Widget! Feature; this feature allows you to chose between four different home screen themes for your own preferences and move and edit your widgets as you please so you can have all of your favourite and most used applications brought straight to the surface.
